Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Fire Loss Recovery

My apartment building was destroyed by a fire that was started by the apartment complex's maintenance workers.

My property was a total loss. Property estimated value was $50,000. My renter's policy covered $15,300. How do I go about recovering the balance of my loss?

Re: Fire Loss Recovery

If you can prove that the fire was started by the negligence of the employees of the building's owner(s), you should be able to make a claim against the insurance company for the owner. It may be advisable to hire an attorney to represent you on the claim. Most attorney's will do so on a contingency fee basis. Also, it may be advisable or necessary to file suit against the owner(s) of the building in order to obtain fair compensation. If you are not already represented by legal counsel and are interested in discussing this matter further, you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
