Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Home Owners and neighborhood

I bought a lot in a neighborhood and had a home built by a builder who owned the rights to build on this lot. The neighborhood was supposed to be for homes valued at $250,000 and up. Recently they have begun to rent some homes already built and yesterday started pouring foundations for homes that will not come close to the $250,000 minimum value. What if any rights do I have to protect my investment?

Re: Home Owners and neighborhood

If you are referring to rights set forth in the neighborhood Homeowner's Association Indentures, Articles, or By-laws, then an attorney would have to read the controlling document before giving you any specific advice. Usually documents of that nature also provide that a homeowner has the right to take action, including filing suit if necessary, to enforce the terms of the document. You should consult with an attorney.
