Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri
my husband & I are co-owners on a pc of property. my mother lives in a trailer on the property. she met a man online. he moved his trailer onto the property. my mom asked me to sign a pc of paper printed from my home computer that said he could live there until he dies. i notarized it at my local bank. she said it was for his pc of mind. now, 2yrs later they are no longer getting along. he has threatened her. the sheriff was called. she had to go to the hospital for a fractured back. i asked him to move his trailer. he is refusing. is the paper that i signed legal since my husband didn't sign it? it wasn't filed anywhere. he's never paid to live on the property. how do i get him to move? also, electric is still on in my mom's name. do i give him time to switch or have it shut off?

If this man gave you nothing in exchange for the lifetime tenacy approval, except cpanionship for yrou mother, then he has stopped holding up his end of the bargain. You will have to treat him the same as any other holdover tenent. You will have to evict him. There are policies , regualtions and procedures that address the removal of trailers, and switching of utilities. I suggest that you do not allow him to put any utilities in his name, if you intend to evict him immediately.
Good luck
