mechanic's lien

New home built 2007. Closing date May 7 2007. Checked on lien waivers before closing have full lien waiver from electrician dated April 26th 2007, walk thru by appraiser stating house complete april 27--now electrician stating payment was only 1/2 down and has filed lien--what can be done to protect us from this change in story

If you have alien waiver from over a year ago, you should be able to defendna against a lein claim filed so late. If this is not an investment property, are you so concerned as be willing to expend the funds to quiet on an outdated lien?
