Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

I rent an apartment in missouri. along with apartment you are given a free storage unit in a full size storge facility, in wich they advertise the property phone number on. lanlords son and friend cut my lock off promised they took nothing out but recovered some of my belongings in another locker that had been cut also they at that time put there own locks on and gave us combinations. About 3 monthes later the lock was gone and my 2005 yamaha yfz 450 racing quad was stolen along with a 49 cc scooter and a bunch of tools. I had no insurance on any of it...

So I never had a storage lease it was just provided, I was never given notice of property does not cover amd it is instorage at own risk.

Under the facts you described, you may sue your landlord and their agent(s) for your loss. It may be dificult to prove your case, but it is possible. If you lease agreement includes a wiaver of the liability of the landlord for property left in storage, it may make your case even tougher to win. You might be wise to consult directly with an attorney in your area, who can examine your written lease agreement (and the other paperwork you have) in order to give you more specific advise. Many attonreys offer a free or low cost intial consultation.

Good luck
