Return of security deposit

I placed a $275 seurity deposit on an apartment and lived there for 4 days. The water was dirty coming out of the faucet, bug problem was really bad, apartment was not clean, etc. After moving out on the 4th day, they told me that the security deposit would not be returned because the problems were something that they could have fixed. Any remedy?

I would certainly suggest that you file a lawsuit in small claims court seeking a judgment against the landlord for the amount of the security deposit and filing fees. The landlord had a general duty to provide you with habitable premises, and it sounds like the landlord failed to do so. Good luck.
