Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

I am having trouble with a tenant that has been squating in my rental house for quite some time. They owe me quite a large sum of money. What can I do that will not cost me more than they owe and what is the best way to get my money?

You can file a petition for rent and possession. It should be filed in the Circuit Court in the county where the tenant resides. These cases are generally put on an expedited docket, so they are resolved fairly quickly. You can sue for back rent, damages, possession, and possibly also court costs and expenses. I handle a fair amount of these cases. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call me at 913 441 5025 if you want to discuss this further.
