Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

If I am unable to pay my rent on an apartment and default, can they change the locks and keep everything inside like my clothes, kids clothes, paperwork etc?

The landlord may not just change the locks. They must sue you to get possession of the premises issued to them by the judge.
