Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

Utility co. removed a 10 year old Pin Oak Tree from our yard without letting us know. Just came on the property and cut it down. Tried to contact us, but went to the wrong house to notify. No door hangar, nothing. This tree was planted before they put up the lines. I know for a fact that this tree could have been trimmed without full removal. None of the branches were touching but were close. I have been growing this tree for privacy for our pool area and road, since we back to a busy road. I was hoping to get compensation for this tree instead of them giving us a $10 seedling to plant! Also, this utility co. doesn't even service us!

You need to purusue your claim further up the ladder of the utility company. If you have any pictures of your old tree, send them to the utility executive. Hopefully, they will get you a more mature tree, or provide you some other privacy screen to make up for thier employee's mistake.

Good luck
