I live in the state of Missouri, and owe 4900.00 in back taxes, 3900.00 in property taxes. I'm on a payment plan, but it's making it impossible for me to survive. Can I ask for a settlement payment, or will they reject it, thinking the taxes aren't very high in their eyes?

You can try to adjust and lower your current payments with the tax agencies, or you can submit to the Dept of Revenue an Offer in Compromise asking toay a lump sum in full settlement of the obligation based on lack of abiity to pay. I am not sure and doubt that the County property taxes can be settled for less than the full amount, but ask them and find out for sure. Good luck.
