Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

Careless and Imprudent

I was behind a vehicle that I thought was driving erratically, I attempted to pass. I saw an oncoming vehicle and tried to return to my previous position. There was little room and I turned to sharply and lost control. I ended up in the ditch, there were no injuries and no other vehicle was involved, no property damage. No prior tickets or record. State officer wrote out a C&I ticket and set a court date. Should I fight it, get a lawyer, plead guilty? What sorts of fines should I expect? How many points and to what effect? Greene County.

Re: Careless and Imprudent

You have the opportunity to challenge the ticket and to do so could save you points on your driving record. Should you decide to hire an attorney, he or she may be able to negotiate a disposition to avoid the points.
