Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri
driving in missouri at age 15
What happens when a 15 (2 months short of becoming 16) year old receives a ticket while driving in the state of Missouri, with an expired Kansas restricted license? The highway patrol gave him a ticket that says ''driving without a license''. The officer later calls our house and says that he and his office lady have been discussing this and she believes it is a criminal offense - so not to mail in the ticket...he will get back with us?

You did not say where in Missouri this occurred. In some jurisdictions, the prosecutor will owkr a deal wiht the defendant's attorney if the driver has since gotten theri license. Has your son gotten his license yet? It is in his interes tot do so as soon as he is eligible. You may email me directly if his ticket is from within 50 miles of Kansas City.
