Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri
my friend was arrested last night and I went to post his bond. They said he had a warrent in another district and cannot be release. He would have to go there. The other district has not picked him up yet, he is still sitting in the other jail where I posted his bond. Can they continue to hold him if he is no longer wanted there and the other district is not trying to come pick him up.

It sounds like your friend needs to retain an attorney to file a Motion to Release on Bnod or Writ of Habeas Corpus. The judge is the one that can tell the jailer to set him free. Your friend may need an attorney to plead his situation to the judge. It may be possible to do it Pre Se, but I do not suggest it.
Good luck
