Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

insurance

I was driving my car and I got stopped by a lawenforcement officer. I didn't have a current insurance card and he gave me a ticket. I called my insurance company and they tell me I was dropped because I forgot to pay 15 dollars left on my premium. They told me to pay it and I can get my coverage back. I need to know what is going to happen to me I am very worried because I have two small kids and I can't afford to lose my license. Please help

Re: insurance

You do not want to just pay the fine because this will result in a conviction on your record. Even if you are an out-of state driver, the MO Department of Revenue will report he conviction to your home state. Once you have the insurance back in place, an attorney can obtain proof from you and arrange a plea bargain that will either get the charge against you dismissed or at least avoid the conviction. If you do not already have an attorney, you may call me for a consultation.
