Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

I was involved in a traffic accident along with another vehicle. I was pulling out of a parking lot going left into the median. As I pulled out I was struck by another vehicle coming from my left side. She hit my back drivers side quarter panel and bumper. She had to be taken to the hospital and her car was towed. I recieved 3 tickets for failure to yield the right away, failure to display license plates (invalid plates) and failure to display proof of motor vehicle financial responsibility. I realize I am guilty of all of these. But after the driver of the car left in a ambulance I was talking to her daughter who was the passenger in the other car and she was telling me that her mom was driving extremely fast and she had asked her mother to slow down several times but her mom continued to pass and weave in and out of traffic. She said they had seen me and she had plenty of time to slow down and still did not. She also stated that her mothers injuries were all being faked. She just didnt know why her mom was doing this. The daughter told the officer the same exact thing but he just seemed to ignore her and went on doing other things. So I asked her if she would make the same statement again except this time I recorded it on my phone. She also told me she would appear in court if needed. So now I dont know if I need a lawyer or just plead guilty to my tickets and pay them. I was wondering if there was a way to find out if she even had a license or insurance. I thought that could possibly be one of the reasons she would fake her injuries. I know they never found proof why we were still at the scene. Please Help and Thanks in Advance. JAIME W

With these three convictions, your license will take on a lot of points. If you've had other tickets in the last few years, your license could be suspended. I suggest that you confer directly with a traffic lawyer, before deciding what to do. Your insurance company will provide a defense lawyer if you are sued in civil court by the other driver. That outcome could greatly affect your insurance premium. How you handle these tickets can save you money in the long run. You may contact me by email, if you need assistance.
