Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

Laws that apply to Police Officers

When a police officer takes radar on the highway while sitting in the car on the shoulder, does the officer need to have any form of lights on while sitting there. Is there any kind of safety code that states the use of parking lights while parked on the highway.

I know of no such law or regulation. However, depending upon the force and jurisdiction, there may be local requirements.

There, is to my knowledge, no cases where the lack of headlights on was grounds for escaping liability for a speeding charge.

Good Luck
