Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

I have multiple traffic warrants, and a couple of minor misdemeanor warrants in multiple states. I have no violent offences, nor DUI or DWI, nor do I have any weopons charges or anything like that. I'm not a criminal, I just made a lot of bad chioces. I've been ducking them for years...Now that I have a family I'd like to take care of them so i can get my life in order for my kid. However, I don't want to do jail time. What do I need to do?

You need to hire counsel admitted to practice in each of the cities or states that you have warrants or active tickets. You may opt to hire one attoprney to farm out the other work on your behalf. Either way, you need to get an accuarate list of what warrants, etc. that you have so an attorney can accurately advise you as to your options. You may have to appear in some of the juriusdiuctiosn to surrender yrou self, in order to get a warratn recalled. You may then be able to adress the underling charge. If, as you say, there are no violent or drug charges, you might be able to have an attorney adress all of them with out your having to appear. You might start with a criminal defense/traffic attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck

Congratulations on the new start. I would start by making a list of all your known citations and warrants. Separate them by state. Then contact an attorney licensed in those states. Most attorneys will give you a free estimate of what it will cost to handle these matters.

Until they are resolved, I would advise you not to drive, since I assume your license is suspended, and you are subject to arrest if stopped. Most clients prefer to handle the low level infractions first (speeding tickets) so we can get momentum going to tackle the criminal citations. Put aside as much money as you can, as courts will charge a premium (warrant fee, court costs) to dispose of old cases.

Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
