If you do not get the ticket amended, it is likely that your license will be hit hard. Perhaps you may not be able to get your full unrestricted license until you are eighteen. The other thing wih a 20 mile over construction zone ticket, for a sixteen year old, is that your insurance premiums may triple. If you have not discussed this with your parents, and they are providing your insurance you should, before deciding to plead guilty or otherwise not get the ticket amended. They may find it cheaper to hire an attorney to represent you in traffic court, than to take the hit on their insurance.
You did not say where you got your ticket. You may email me if you need referral to an attorney that handles the area where you got the ticket. Once you hire an attorney, it is up to you whether to tell your parents or not.
Good luck
