Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

I got a speeding ticket in a school zone, however, the school district is on spring break. Should the speed limit be enforced when school is not in session? Is it enforced in the summer when school is not in session? Should I fight this or just pay it?

School zone reduced speeds are not usually enforced when school is not in session, such as weekends and Summers. A person in yoru shoes must make an economic decision about whether to fight the ticket. If they win, they will have to pay nothing. If they lose, they pay only what they would have, had they just paid the ticket, plus court costs. (usually between $25-$55)

If you hire an attorney to negotiate a non-moving plea or diversion agreement, (so your insurance won't go up and and your drviing privelieges wil not be affected), you will pay about twice what the ticket normally costs. plus the attorney fee. The affect on yrou license and the bump in insurance premiums is determined by what other things are on your driving record, and which insurer you have.

You did not say in what jursidiction you were ticketed. That will affect yrou options. You can email me or consult direclty with an attorney in your area to examine the particualr facts of your matter, and get advice specific to your case.

Good luck
