Can a creditor make a claim on an estate once probate has been closed and the assets distributed?

Generally, a creditor cannot sucessfully assert a claim against an estate that has been distributed and closed. However, there instances where known creditors , whe were not given proper notice, can get paid by the estate, the devisees or the PR's bondsman. That is rare, as most probate attorneys are very good about getting proper notice out to the known creditors.
