Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri
A friend of my recently acquired a farm with land and money after his grandmother died. All the paper work has been signed by all parties including a judge. Unfortunately the judge never gave him the copies of the paperwork. He has now been trying for almost a month trying to get the paperwork and keys he needs in order to get the $$ from the bank and to be able to move into the farm house. Everyone he as talked to says he can not break into the house. That he is not even allowed to step onto the property until he has the paper work in his hand. He has been trying daily to get copies of the paperwork, but they keep giving him the run around with it. What can he do in order to occupy the farm house and be able to get the $$$ from the bank account? Please help and Thanks.

Something doesn't sound right here. He should be able to go to the Probate Court and see the entire file and get copies of any and all documents in the file. You used the word "acquired" and not "inherited" - is that meaningful? Has he talked to the "Personal Representative" of the estate (executor)? If there is really a problem he may need a lawyer.
