Re: holographic wills

I am sorry to hear that your grandmother passed away. Holographic wills are not accepted in Missouri except in very rare and very extreme cases, such as when someone in an accidient writes out a Will at the scene of the crash moments before death. If your grandmother owned any property or asets at the time of her death, it may be necessary to open a probate estate to administer her estate. In those proceedings, the document she intended to serve as a Will may be considered as evidence of her intended dispositon of her assets. I would advise you to consult with an attorney for legal advice specific to your circumstances. Good luck.
