Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

My house was foreclosed on in march of this year. I live in missouri. I now have someone calling me saying that i owe an amount of money that was left over after the sale of the house. In missouri can they come after me for the difference?

If the amount the house sells for on the court house steps is less than the amount that was owed, the reminder is called the deficiency. Claims and suits for deficiencies are becoming more common. You shoudl demand to see an accounting of how sale proceeds and the like were used. You can then determine if there was adeficiiency in your case. The deficiency cannot always be sued for. If you continue to worry, you should have a local attorney look at your documentation to see if you owe anything. You might even hire them to deal with the creditor for you.

Good luck
