Re: Inheritance

First, I am sorry to hear of your loss. In response to your question,I would suggest that you could check in the Probate Court in the County where your grandmother lived to see whether her Last will and Testament has been filed and whether there is a Probate Estate being administered. If there is an attorney involved, you can obtain that information from the court clerks and contact the attorney. You may request copies of all the legal documents to be sent to you so that you can stay on top of the situation. Depending upon the facts, you might want to hire an attorney to look into this for you and possibly represent you in the Estate proceedings. No matter what you decide to do, I wish you good luck.

Re: Inheritance

There should be a probate file if your aunt is handling the probate of the will. Call the county clerk or probate clerk in the county courthouse located where your grandmother resided to make sure there is one. A copy of the will should be in the file along with a copy of the inventory and appraisement which will address the exact contents of the estate. You should be able to examine the file since these documents are of public record.
