Next of Kin
My ex-husband has passed away; and we have 2 adult children; also he has a sister. He owned his own house, car etc. etc. I also know there was life insurance. What defines the next of kin?? I also believe there might be a will. What should my children do??

You did not say what part (County) of Missouri your ex lived in when he died. Your children should take immediate action to see that his property is secured and insured. Then they should begin searching for the will. Missouri does not allow heirs a long period to ponder their options. They should speak with an attorney.
