Re: Legal wills in the state of Missouri

I can't think of too many legal documents that are more important than your Last Will and Testament. It absolutely boggles my mind why anyone would risk making a "homemade" will which will in all likelihood not be accepted by the Probate Court, admitted to Probate, or enforced in any way. A person who does this is leaving his or her estate to his or her heirs under the law of descent and distribution which applies in cases where there is no Will. Have you read that statute? Have you read the statutes governing Wills? Even if you have done so, the experience that an attorney brings to the job is so much more than worth the modest cost involved that you will be making a huge mistake if you proceed with your plan to write up your own Will. I do not want you to call me. I am not looking for your business. It would be in your best interest and the best interest of the people you leave behind if you hire an attorney. Please do so.
