You will need to open a probate estate and deal with the mortgage during the administration of the estate. The easiest way to deal with it is to sell the house and payoff the mortgage. If for some reason you wish to keep the house in all five chidren's names you should contact the lender to see what can be worked out. Your attorney will assist you with this.
