Is it possible to have the ownership of insurance policies that my deceased husband took out on our children transferred to me without the expense of going through the court.

In all likelihood, no. You can't just transfer ownership of something owned by a decedent because you want to. However, there may be some sort of "short form" of probate that will work for you. You may email us at [email protected] for more info.
