Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

Power of Attorney

My brother was recently picked up for felony charges which he had been running from for years. They won't give him a bond fearing he'll run again. He has a pending personal injury case which he has legal councel for which leads me to my question. If I remember correctly, would he have to sign a power of attorney to me so I can handle his fiancial and personal property affiars?

Re: Power of Attorney

Your brother could sign a power ofattorney naming you or anyone he chooses to act in his place regarding the civil lawsuit or other matters. Of course, he also needs an attorney to represent him on the defense of the felony case. Depending upon where he is in custody, an attorney may be able to prepare the power of attorney and then visit with your brother to obtain his signature. Good luck.
