There is not a clear specific anser to your question based upn the genral facts you described. If a minor is beneficary to alife insurance polcy., the mney almost never becoes part of the decedent's probate estate. But, probate courts also do minro estates. In such acse, teh funds may be made part of the minor's estate, so that a conservator woudl be appointed to hold the funds in trust fo rthe minor. They may have to get the court's approval to spend the money on the minor, distribute it to the minor, and expecially fo rnayting that beneifits someonother thant the minore,. When the child reaches the age of majority, the money is usualy distributed to them, and the minor estate is closed or terminated.

Good luck
