Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

property

My mom is wondering what her rights are concerning house, property, etc. Her husband committed suicide last Nov. and his daughter is contesting it and saying all of the sudden she has a will (that isn't signed) leaving everything to her. My mom lives in the state of Missouri. She is afraid of loosing the home they shared for over 13 yrs. What are rights as his wife? Thank you!

Re: property

Your mom needs to consult with an attorney. The attorney can advise her concerning what, if anything, she needs to do. An unsigned Will is not going to be recognized in a court of law. Your Mom and her husband may have owned assets jointly so that no probate is necessary. Only after all of the facts are known can an attorney advise your Mom properly. If she is in the eastern half of the state she may call me for a consultation.
