My mom past away in 01/2006 She was in car accident 6yrs ago w/semi. It has been to court but not settled. I want to know is there away to receive her settlement somehow even though she is not here. We have a financial power of attorney papers for bank finances leagal & settlements, etc. She had cancer & we told lawyer that she wanted settled before past away. SHe wanted for me & my brother. She tried to hold on but couldn't. She tried but cancer got her. & they still did not get it settled we are meeting with them in aweek. THe semi co has been thru 3 lawyers & the driver has dissappeared(was illegal alien)& sheriff said has been in alot of accidents before. THis was in Missourri. Is there a way to still receive her settlement. I am her oldest daughter & she has 1 son. She dserves to receive justice. She wanted it to take care of her kids & grand kids when she past. Pls email me back. It is with a big semi company. also my brother, aunt & cousin was in the accident. & aunts 2 grandkids too. The company paid the 2 grandkids a $2000.00 settlement along time ago. So that admitted guilt.
