Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

What are my Rights as his Only Child

I want to know if I have any rights to my father's things in his death? I am the only child, he was not married, and he was millitary but wasn't on active duty or reserve. I want to know if I get some kind of say so in how or where he is buried and what is to be done with his things. He died suddenly. There is no will or any legal documents in his death. His mother and father are still living and sisters and brothers, but I am the only child. Do I get any say so in his end?

Re: What are my Rights as his Only Child

If you are not a minor, and your father was not under a guardianship when he passed, you should get his entire estate, if the facts are as you say. That is subject to his creditors. As to burial, etc. usually teh one who is paying gets to make most of the decisions, where there is no Will. Is he to have military burial? Are you going to contract for the funeral hoem and cemetary is he isn't?

Good Luck
