Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri
Step Father not letting us know what was in Mothers will, or estate
Our Mother indicated to her daughters what she intended for them and who would be executer of her will, the house from their father, and what was from her family etc. After her death her 2nd husband would not show them the will and said everything was his. Things from her family, with names on them (put on by our mother) has not been given to them and he has said they are ''dissapearing''. We would like to know if there is a way to find out what was in her will, who truly is the executor, and if we can have things that came from our grandmother and grandfather that should go directly to us. We know we will probably not see our family home, or any money she said we would, but would truly like our things, like family bible, and other things from our family lineage. Our other family members are encouraging us to check into this (her brothers and sisters). We would like to know if or how to go about finding out if we can do anything about this at all. Thank you.

Re: Step Father not letting us know what was in Mothers will, or estate
The information Mr. Lade indicated is true. However, there is a limited time after death, that a Will can be submitted for probate. I will be in Anchorage in a few weeks. You did not indicate what Missouri County your mother resided in, nor do I know what part of Alaska you are in.
You may contact me directly at: [email protected] if you wish to share more information. I may be able to assist you or know someone who can.
Good Luck,

Your stepfather has no control over the will. A will must be presented to the probate court for execution. If this has not been done then you need to contact a Missouri attorney who can prepare a petition to enter the will into probate for you.
