Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri
Do I need a will if?
I'm married, I have three kids, two by my current wife and one (17) from a previous marriage. If I passed away, would all my possessions automattically go to my current wife or would they have to be distributed equally to my three children and current wife? I have insurance with my current wife as the beneficary so I assume she will get all my insurance but I don't want her to have to sell my personal items or they go to probate. I know the best thing to have is a will, but since I don't maybe the answer to this will force me to get one. Also, I have the Family Lawyer software, is that a suitable Will program to use and then just have it notarized?

Re: Do I need a will if?
zif you think you might need awill, you usually do. If you were to pass away to day, half your estate would go to your present wife, and half to your child from the previous marriage.
As for software wills, I cannot vouch for their reliability or effectiveness. Printing the Family Lawyer will, signing it, and having yoru signature notarized will probably not be effective to act as your Will and Testament.
Good Luck,
