Legal Question in Workers Comp in Missouri

Right knee rating

I innjured my knee while at work. I had a torn ACL and two miniscus tears. I had the ligament replaced with a cadaver ligiment and the tears shaved. I reciev ed my initial rating of 12%. I am wondering if this is normal or what is the standard rating for this injury.

Re: Right knee rating

Based on the amount of surgical intervention you had to the knee, you should have your attorney seek a second rating opinion.

You should retain a work comp attorney to get you rated by a different doctor. If you are in my area, there a few that I would suggest.

Re: Right knee rating

I am a Missouri workers' compensation attorney that handles claims throughout the state. 12% seems too low, based on the extent of your injury. I recently settled a claim involving a torn ACL injury at a 25% rating. The difference between a 12% and 25% rating is a couple thousand dollars. You may receive greater than a 25% rating as well. There are numerous doctors that routinely do "second opinion" evaluations for injured workers and work with attorneys. Please feel free to e-mail me for further information. Thanks.

Re: Right knee rating

Do you have an attorney? If so, then you should ask your attorney. If not, you need to consult with an attorney. You will not get everything that you are entitled to under the law if you are not represented by an attorney, and you will receive more in compensation, even after the attorney's fee is deducted from the settlement proceeds or award, then you will receive if you try to go through this on your own. If you do not already have an attorney please feel free to call me for a free telephone consultation. I can refer you to one of the very best worker's compensation attorneys in the state!
