Re: termination
Likely not! You seem to have a serious situation as you've been terminated from your employment. I highly recommend you speak to an attorney about your rights under the IL Workers' Compensation Act. If you have permanent restrictions that do not allow you to perform the job you were working, you have the right to ask the insurance company to help you find a new job (this is called vocational rehabilitation). You also have the right to receive payments while your off work until you can find a new job that can accomodate your restriction. You are also entitled to a settlement for the permanency of your injury.
These are only a few of the issues an attorney should be discussing with you. I'm happy to do so. Feel free to contact me at the information provided on this website. I hope to hear from you soon. Good luck!

Re: termination
They can do this, but there are things you can do as well. #1, they have to keep on paying you until you find a new job. #2 Under Illinois law, if you have been off of work for more than 120 days they are required to put together a vocational rehabiliation plan for you. In other words they have to help you find a job within your restrictions.
If you want our help enforcing th law let us know.
