Legal Question in Business Law in Montana

Starting my Own Business With one Product Line

I have an idea for a product that I would like to develop. The product would be used for and by children and would go on the skin as well as the hair.

I would like to know how to protect my product, myself and my new company. I have contacted a chemist for testing the product. Also, should be incorporated? I would like my company and personal like to be seperate.

Any information you can give me would be helpful.

Thank you,

I would agree with Mr. Oliver's advice. You should also consider patent protection for your product. You should consult a patent attorney. I would make sure that the product you intend to produce can be patented and that your product does not infringe upon someone elses patent. You should give the same consideration to the name of your product and trademark protection. I would suggest that you do all this before production, other than of prototypes, begins. Best of luck to you.

I would definitely incorporate. There are lots of things to consider in order to determine the type of corporation and you should consult a Certified Public Accountant or attorney.
