Legal Question in Construction Law in Montana

I live in Montana and my home was built Dec. 05 and on April 12th 2007 I now have some leaking into my basement and the contractor told me that it wasn't his problm that I shouls call my insurance co. I was told that there is a law called the warranty of habitant. Please explain this to me and tell me how I can get more information on it.

I'm not a MT lawyer but it is generally called a warranty of inhabitability and there is a dealine for you to file suit against the contractor either from when you took possession or when you discovered the problem. Consult a local real property attorney.
