Forgery in MT

I want to know what the statute of limitations are for a case of forgery in Montana(specifically, how long does the State have to prosecute)?

The statute of limitations for forgery, in Montana is 5 years after the commission of the offense. There are events that cause the statute not to run, such as the person being out of state, or not found within the jurisdiction. In other words, a person can't commit a crime here, go somewhere else for five years and then come back and have the charge dismissed.
