Is a Fsh and Game violation a misdemeanor?

In April of 2001 I purchased a resident wild turkey license. I owned property in Montana ,paid taxes (both property and income), had a phone and all utilities going to that residence in my name, but was traveling throughout the midwest in several states working.

I was given a citation in October for being a non-resident, because I had not lived in the state for 120 consecutive days. The game warden gave me a fine and suspended my privledges for 3 years. I went before a justice of the peace and explained the circumstances. He accepted the fine and did not take away privledges. How is that infraction viewed in the eyes of the law? Is it just a ticket, like a speeding ticket, or is it a misdemeanor. I have a securities license. I have to notify the SEC and NASD if the infraction is a misdemeanor. In all future applications, will I have to list it as a misdemeanor,or ignore it as just a ticket? Does it stay on my record? Thank you so much for your service and the advice. Jim Strickland

In the state of Indiana an infraction is not considered a criminal offense. Unless advised by the court otherwise, it is like a speeding ticket and not a misdemeanor.
