Re: Contempt of Court
I am licensed in Montana only and my response is limited to Montana law. I do not give advice concerning the law of other states. It seems to me that the obvious question is why a person would want to avoid what was ordered by the Court? The consequences are, first, you could be held in contempt and fined or even jailed; second, you might not be able to get your driving privileges restored until you complete treatment and your license could be suspended indefinitely. You should know that a conviction for first offense driving while suspended carries penalties of a minimum of 2 days in jail, maximum of 10 days, and a fine of up to $500.
