statues on old DUI citations
I am seeking information and help. I have a friend who has suspended licenses in MT, WA, and WY stemming from DUI charges. Some of these charges are several years old. How does he go about finding the necessary information to go about "cleaning up" these charges. He simply did not appear in court for any of the charges and in the case of WA and WY simply moved out of the state. He resides in MT (and has a suspended license in MT also) and wishes to continue residing here. We are interested in what he does go about getting a license - pay whatever fines may be necessary or whatever the consequences may be. Surely after years and years there must be a process to allow him to clean up his record. Thank you.

Re: statues on old DUI citations
In Montana, a $100.00 reinstatement fee is required. It must be sent to Records and Driver Control in Helena. They may have additional requirements and your friend may need to retest. Usually, in Montana, they will not reinstate the license if the other states have not been taken care of. In other words, your friend may have to do whatever the other states need before he can get his Montana driving privileges restored. Good Luck.
