Re: emancipation and abandonment

I practice family law in the 4th Judicial District, Missoula County.

What I've learned about emancipation of a minor is this: Generally, the minor child (let's call him or her MC for simplicity) will have to show the Court MC's reason for emancipation; MC's plan for supporting self, such as where will MC live, how will MC provide for clothing, food, medical care, transportation; MC's standing in school; MC's plan for achieving graduation. That will be no small feat for a 15 year old. Perhaps you have an alternative?
