Time limit to rule

Is there a time limit for a judge to rule on a case, once the case has been presented to him? We have been waiting on a ruling from a judge in Montana about summer visitiation of a minor since January. The summer is almost over!

You can file a "Notice of Issue" in which you concisely show the timeline of the petition or motion, all pleadings have been filed, and the issue is ripe for the court's ruling.
