petition for inmediate relative or marriage

An alien to try to get american citizenship have to become first a permanent resident, this can be achived by a petition filed by a U.S. citizen that is an inmediate relative ie: spouse, ect.The amount of time alone can not grant imigration bebefits with the exception of suffering extreme prejudice after living in the U.S. for more than ten years.Consult an Immigration lawyer. Good luck!
