Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Montana

Misrepresentation

The lawyer I had representing me is considered by most to be the toughest in the state...but he definitely did not do what was in my best interest. Now I would like to get a new lawyer to try to repair the damage that my lawyer did to me during the original suit. I've been told in order to do that I have to sue him. I can't find a single lawyer in the state that isn't intimidated by him, and all of the lawyers I've spoken with have said that I have a legitimate case against him. What can I do? He has ruined me financially with his lack of representation. It's not that I want to go after him, I just want decent representation for the original suit. Is this is the only way to get it? And if so, how can I find a lawyer who isn't afraid of him? Any advice?

Re: Misrepresentation

Not every lawyer in the state is afraid of him, doesn't matter who he is. No one is that good or that terrifying.

Go down to the local court and ask to see all the cases this guy has handled.

Then, look to see who was across the table from him. Call the ones who won against him, or at least held their own.

Call the ethics board and file a claim, if you've got documentation of malpractice, --failure to observe an appropriate standard of care.
