Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Montana

Police Conduct

Recently, a convenience store near my house was fined for selling alcohol to minors. Then the incident was published in the local newspaper. The local newspaper stated that it was a ''sting'', in which the police sent minors into various convenience stores to try and purchase alcohol. My questions are; can police send in a minor to try and purchase alcohol? The act of a minor trying to obtain alcohol is a crime itself, right? Isn't this a form of entrapment by the police? It just doesn't seem right to me. Please explain.

Re: Police Conduct

This happens all the time. You can google "entrapment" for your state to understand it better. It is also on wikipedia.
