Getting deposit back
Landlord did not notify within the 30 day limit of rental agreement of any damages.

Then he is foreclosed by law from collecting damages from you or from retaining any portion of your cleaning and damage deposit for alleged damages.
If he has retained your C & D deposit and refuses to return it, your recourse is to take him to small claims court and recover that money plus interest, and you may wish to check with a local lawyer to determined whether or not you can be compensated for attorney's fees for legal representation to recover same.
