Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Montana

My father died without a will on 11-22-13. He was a military veteran. He owned a house in Montana. My brother is suppose to be handling the estate. My brother now is asking me to pay 50% of all the expenses, cremation, house payment, insurance,

etc. my question is: Shouldn't all my father's bills be on hold until probate is

completed?

His bills should be paid from the estate unless the estate does not have the money. I would ask your brother that question. You may also want to retain an attorney to assist you in the estate.
